Hello dear friends! This past week I have been spending all of my time waiting for Baby Brown to arrive – which means I am doing a lot of nothing. My house is clean, the laundry and dishes are constantly caught up with, and I don’t want to start any big projects just to have them sit unfinished if the baby comes before I get it done. And honestly – every night I go to bed hoping that TONIGHT will be the night that I finally get to meet this precious child growing inside of me. Maybe by the time you are reading this – Baby Brown will have made its grand arrival. I’m not holding my breath though, it seems as though it is never coming out! So to pass the time along I have been doing two things: knitting and coloring. I must admit, I am not a very good knitter. I taught myself how to do it last winter and have been working on one simple baby blanket since I started (I get bored of it very easily). I have been coloring a lot though! You might be thinking to yourself – Coloring? Isn’t that for children? And while usually you would be correct, this time – you are missing out BIG TIME!

A few months ago, I bought myself some pretty cool adult coloring books. They are full of incredible designs – some super intricate; others have neat sayings or bible verses. All are very fun to color. And the mindlessness of the coloring is so relaxing. Did you know that some therapists actually use coloring to help their clients relax and tune out the rest of the world? Which is why I think you need to know about this right now!

The holiday season can be so stressful. With parties, pageants and recitals every week – it is really easy to get swept up in the rush and hassle of it all. I know that some years, by the time Christmas Day arrives – I am so sick of the holidays that I don’t want to open gifts or eat one more cute cookie. I become the Grinch. I am really hoping that this year – since we will have a new baby and I’m sure my life will be even more stressful – that I can use coloring as a way to relax and maybe take out my frustrations on the pages instead of snapping at people I love. I want to be able to enjoy the holidays. And I hope you can too!

If you go to my blog – I will have several FREE Coloring Printables for you to try out! There are so many online that you really don’t have to bother buying any books. But I will also have a few links to a few of my favorite coloring books – just in case you want to make an investment.

Until Next Time,
